People have complained that I haven't updated this for a while, but there is not a lot more to report. So briefly:

Matters medical: we have not heard the result of the Fabry's test yet ( we presume it will be negative now that the TOE test showed that Andrew has a PFO (see previous blog). Andrew has just received an appointment to see his consultant at the L&D in early June.

Andrew is also managing some quite long days without sleep, but on others has several sleeps. He has done a bike ride, played badminton with me in the garden, and today done quite a long walk of around 3-4 miles around Stockgrove park. He walks into town ( about a mile) and back at least twice a week to do shopping and helps with gardening/allotment.

Three effects of the stroke remain: loss of short term memory; tiredness and a rather weak voice. These combine so that, when he is tired or has just woken up, things are foggier and the voice weaker. I try to "manage" the tiredness so that he sleeps before he goes out. I hope that as he gets less tired, things will get easier. I think patience is required, something I am having to learn. The longer term memory is not too bad. He can remember people and faces, its time that is a problem, he can remember when things happened, or the year, or indeed what I said a couple of minutes ago. I am trying to keep the house tidy in order that he can find things more easily. Andrew does not much like doing his diary or calendars as this is hard. Yesterday he drew a face with a tongue sticking out when I tried to get him to update his diary.

Matters musical: Andrew has played bass at a session in Dunstable with Brian Heywood and friends, where he played continuously for around two and a half hours; done some recording with Chris Wilkinson, and joined a local community choir that has just been set up in Leighton Buzzard. He is undaunted that he is one of only 2 men in a group of around 30!

Love to all
Gill
