We have had a long day at Harefield (up at 5am to make sure we were there for 7.30am), the op to close the hole in Andrew's heart went OK and he was back in recovery by 10.30am He was kept in for quite a while in the afternoon as the wound took a long time to stop bleeding, due to the aspirin he is taking, but we finally got away around 5.45pm and were back home by 7pm. He is now sleeping soundly but I am buzzing with adrenaline, so have decided to update the blog now!

If all goes well we will have a very quiet week, Andrew can only do short walks, nothing heavy/strenuous, and we would like to stay away from crowds/social things where he might pick up an infection; we will start trying to get back to normal next week
